Escape to Sri Lanka is an active adventure trip for those who dream of discovering beautiful, far away places and enjoying all that Sri Lanka has to offer! This active adventure trip is all my loves rolled into one: daily yoga and surf, sprinkled with bike rides, stand up paddle boarding, massage, relaxation/free time, daily coconuts, exploring, culture, fun, sun, sea and salt. Oh and food- don’t forget the food! Throw some sunset beers and whale watching into the mix and it’s a dream! 

   

In Sri Lanka you will learn to surf or improve your skills. You will stretch your muscles under frangipani trees with daily yoga sessions. We will be staying in a private colonial villa a 5 minute walk from the beach, located on the south-west coast of Sri Lanka, located about 20 minutes from Galle.

JENN & NATALIE

 

Jenn and Natalie became friends in Jersey, where Natalie inspired Jenn to start surfing regularly, they attended each other’s yoga classes and shared teaching the islands only SUP yoga classes.  Jenn is a health coach, health food chef, yoga + SUP yoga teacher.  Natalie is a surf instructor, yoga + SUP yoga instructor, as well as an environmental activist.  Learn more about Natalie on her website.   We can’t wait to play in the warm water waves with you!

You don’t like to be with groups of people

We will be spending time together, you need to want to make new friends and soak up this time with other amazing like minded women.  That being said, I also appreciate that we all need space for there will be daily free time where you can get some space. 

 
You are afraid to try new foods, aren’t interested in new cultures, people and experiences

 It can be overwhelming at first when you show up to a new place, but my hope is that you will embrace the food, culture and people. If you do, you will leave with a smile on your face. Please know there will always be healthy food options available and catering to vegetarian is not a problem! 

 

You are looking for a detox, cleanse, juicing or weight loss retreat

Nope, this isn’t it.  We are going to eat, we are going to have a beer or cocktail if we feel like it and we will definitely not be going hungry.  There will always be healthy options available and catering for food allergies and preferences isn’t a problem. 

You are deathly afraid of bugs

We will be staying in locations surrounded by nature, you will see bugs.  They won’t hurt you. 

 

You just want to lay by the pool and tan

This retreat is for squeezing the most out of each day and making the most of your time in Sri Lanka.  If you love to be active, try new things, see and do exciting stuff- this is perfect for you.  There isn’t a pool at the villa, but the beach is 5 minutes away. 

 

You need to blow dry your hair, wear tons of makeup and high heels all day, everyday

It’s gonna be hot. You will have beachy hair, there’s no point in blow-drying. Your makeup will melt off and you will break your neck trying to walk in heels, bring your nice flip flops instead.  The daily get up is super casual, I will send you a packing list though so you will know what to bring. 

FAQs

What if I am coming on my own?

Amazing and well done you for having a sense of adventure to come on your own! There are single room options available or I can try to pair you up with another single traveller to share a twin room.  Don’t worry, you won’t be the only one who has come on their own, I always have lots of solo travellers come along. Plus you know me!

What if I haven´t done yoga before, will I be ok?

I think you will enjoy the retreat more if you do some yoga before coming.  Start doing it now- go to class, do videos at home between now and the retreat.  I don’t recommend showing up to the retreat in March never having done yoga. And, remember, everything is optional, so if yoga isn’t your thing and you’d rather sleep in- it’s up to you!  The yoga will be geared to all levels and abilities. 

Do I have to participate in all the activities?

Nope, it’s totally up to you! You do whatever will make your experience the best for you. 

Is this a detox or cleanse retreat?

No, it isn’t.  You can eat and drink as much as you like.  Breakfast is included everyday. Lunch and dinner is included most days.  You will have a couple meals that aren’t included, where you are free to eat wherever you like and can try the great culinary delights around, so it will be up to you what you want to eat.
